India is a place of vast culture and varieties of cuisine with a different style of recipe. Paneer Lababdar is a popular vegetarian dish of Indian cuisine with creamy gravy, mildly tangy taste, and slight sweetness.
Paneer is cottage cheese and Lababdar means to want something passionately and totally give in. It is a Punjabi style Indian cuisine which is in almost every menus of the North Indian restaurants. In this blog, I’m gonna give you a lababdar recipe of this delicious dish- Paneer lababdar.
So, before starting let’s have look at the ingredients going to use in this mouth-watering dish.
Paneer 500 gm
3-4 onion (chopped)
8-9 small cloves of Garlic
1 inch of Ginger(chopped)
3-4 Black pepper and 4-5 Cloves (laung)
Low fat Cream
1 tsp Honey
Kasuri methi (dry fenugreek leaves)
Turmeric, Chilli and Coriander powder
Salt, as per taste
2 Bay leaves
HOW TO MAKE (Recipe):
First, prepare the mise, means to make sure that all the ingredients are available and ready to use.
Make the fine cashew paste with the help of a grinder for later use and there should not be any cashew chunks in the paste.
Now, Take a pan or kadhai, add chopped tomatoes, ginger, garlic, cardamom, chopped onions, black pepper, and cloves to it with 1/2 cup of water and simmer this mixture in a low flame.
After the boiling of ingredients, cool it down and add to the grinder jar and make fine puree for the gravy.
Heat 2 tablespoons of butter in a pan.
Add Bay leaves (Tej Patta) and saute it for a couple of seconds. Then, Pour the Gravy into it and stir in low flame. After few minutes add turmeric powder, chilli powder, and coriander powder and salt as per taste.
When you will see the oil leaving the side of the gravy add 3-4 tablespoon of water and pour the cashew paste you have made earlier and stir it well.
Add some water if your gravy is thick and pour your main ingredient Paneer or Cottage cheese into the gravy and stir it in low flame.
Add a tsp of honey for a faintly sweet taste. It will give an admiring sweet taste to the dish.
Garnish your dish with Kasuri methi (dry fenugreek leaves) for beautiful aroma and flavour and stir it very well.
Switch off the flame and Top up your dish with 1/2 cup of low-fat cream and stir it well
Garnish it with a fresh leaf of coriander and bay leaf and finally, your mouth-watering Paneer Lababdar is ready to join your dining table.
